As a resident of Sedona, Arizona I have had the opportunity to explore and find many beautiful locations for landscape photography. In my mind the only thing better is nightscape photography featuring the Milky Way and the heavens.
Night Sky Workshop
I’ve designed night sky photo workshops around Sedona’s International Dark Sky Designation. You can learn more here about the dark sky designation and what it takes to maintain. Suffice it to say we can see a lot of stars. Add some red rocks as foreground and it makes for some incredible photographic opportunities.
Learn how to photograph the night sky
Three days and two nights of learning await. There are lots of tips and techniques to get the best from night sky photography. When you first arrive in Sedona we’ll head to the classroom to learn best practices for night sky photography. This includes how to find the Milky Way, camera settings, how to focus, and how to get the most from your time here. After you make the images, then what? There will be Photoshop processing lessens as well.
The skills you learn during the workshop can be used anywhere.
While we are at the mercy of Mother Nature and the weather, the plan is to have two nights in locations conducive to making images of the Milky Way. Star trails will also be covered.
Not all work
You’ll network with other photographers in the class while we enjoy dinner on me at one of Sedona’s top restaurants. You’ll also have some scheduled free time to explore Sedona as well.
Learn more
There is way more information than I can share here. So, jump on over to my website to learn more about the Milky Way and Night Sky Photography Workshop.
