The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show celebrated 100 years of serving the broadcast, media, and entertainment industry. This is the most significant event for the media, entertainment, and technology industries. This year’s event had over 105,000 attendees and more then a thousand exhibits in the numerous expo halls.
Photofocus had a few of your writers and contributors in various roles, from training to the actual event production. This year for the first time, the Visual Storytelling Conference producers brought its world-class training to the NAB venues. Many of our readers have supported the VSC Conference since its beginning. We are also proud that several of the VSC trainers over the years are regulars here on Photofocus! This year’s live VSC training was one of the highlights frequently mentioned by the NAB attendees at large.
COVID-19 put a serious cloud over the future of these type industry-centric conferences and trade shows. But having attended several in the last few months, I feel as many insiders do the evolved hybrid trade shows are back!
Imaging USA, WPPI and now NAB had solid attendance and incredible energy. The shows have all evolved to increase attendee engagement and networking events. Many of these attendees are first timers who are excited to immerse themselves in, and hopefully find a new career be it full or part time.
Many of these have evolved into hybrid conferences, presenting both the in person and virtual experiences. An example of this is the VSC event, which had a live component during the NAB Conference. It will also have a virtual event on May 20th for those who couldn’t attend the main show.
Attending these types of conferences and workshops can be a great way to improve your skills and network with others in the industry. We hope to see and connect with you in the next one!
