VIEWBUG partners with Michael J. Fox Foundation to raise awareness for Parkinson’s disease

April 13, 2023

VIEWBUG, an ecosystem of over four million creators, recently launched a fundraising campaign for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. They also intend to raise at least $2,000 in a photo mission that everyone can join. The goal is to raise awareness and fund research for Parkinson’s disease (PD), which currently has no known cure.

With the theme “Hope Through the Lens,” the photo mission aims to encourage photographers to use their creative skills to raise awareness about PD. The mission is also an invitation for photographers to capture the spirit of hope and resilience in the face of disease.

There’s no commitment to being a VIEWBUG member or participating in a photo mission, just a willingness to contribute to the cause, however big or small the amount is. Additionally, VIEWBUG will donate $400 on behalf of the photo mission winners.

According to VIEWBUG, their photo missions and challenges get from 10,000 to 80,000 participants each. So, if every participant of the “Hope through the Lens” would donate even $1 or $5, they would be able to raise thousands of dollars to support the world’s largest nonprofit funder of PD research.

The mission is open to all photographers. There are also no restrictions on the type of camera or equipment used. A panel of experts from the VIEWBUG community will serve as judges, including VIEWBUG’s CEO, Ori Guttin. To enter the mission, visit the VIEWBUG website and submit your photos by May 5.

The winner will receive a donation made under their name to the Michael J FOX Foundation. In addition, VIEWBUG will also feature the photos on their website, giving them exposure to a global audience of photography enthusiasts.

Michael J Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease through an aggressively funded research agenda. Ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson’s today is also part of its goal.

“Photographers and creators, essentially, have been the driving force behind some of the world’s most impactful social initiatives,” said Ori Guttin, CEO and co-founder of VIEWBUG.

“Approximately 60,000 new cases of Parkinson’s disease are diagnosed every year in the United States alone, and unfortunately, the topic doesn’t get enough of the attention it deserves. VIEWBUG is lucky to have one of the most engaged creative communities in the world. And I hope we can help make a dent in finding the cure for Parkinson’s,” Guttin added.
